High-end integrated units use articulated hinges that pull the door forward before swinging it out. This allows the door to open 90 degrees without the wood panel hitting the adjacent cabinet gable, even with a 1/8" gap.
The mandatory 2-4" buffer on flanking gables required for wide-swing doors to open past 90 degrees for drawer access.
